Mercedes-Benz Shooting Break Concept

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Shooting Break Concept, a show car that combines the design elements of a station wagon with the proportions of a coupé. It takes inspiration from the iconic CLS and gives some indications on the brand's future design direction.
The interior is dominated by natural wood and leather materials, and features four identical seats, upholstered with porcelain-coloured nappa leather combined with metallic-silver perforated leather inserts.
The powertrain adopts a new 3.5 liter V6 gasoline engine with direct injection, which produces 225 kW (306 hp) and 370 Nm and is in line with the BlueEFFICIENCY criteria.

Mercedes-Benz Design Sculpture "Rising Car"

At the 2010 Detroit Motor Show Mercedes-Benz has presented an automobile sculpture that portrays a concept car body taking form and rising from a liquid surface. The artwork hints at the brand's design language evolution for the next future models.
The sculpture, named "Rising Car", represents a Mercedes-Benz Concept body taking soft, flowing form from liquid - or as if it was covered by a "shimmering cloth" draped over.
The nature-inspired artwork has been revealed at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show and gives hints on the evolution of the brand's design language, with art-deco elements inspired by the 1930's.
In particular, it could preview the general lines of the next-generation CLS four-door coupé, that should be unveiled within this year.

Mercedes-Benz BlueZero Concept

Mercedes-Benz has released new images on the BlueZero Concept, the laboratory vehicle unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Motor Show that previews an electric-powered future production model based on a modular sandwich-floor architecture.
Three models with different electric drives can be produced on the basis of a single vehicle architecture — the sandwich floor from the A-Class and B-Class.
This architecture makes it possible to realize three models with different energy sources for the electric motor:
E-CELL with battery
E-CELL Plus with battery and gasoline
F-CELL with hydrogen
All three models are packed with liquid-cooled lithium- ion batteries with up to 35 kilowatt-hours of storage capacity and front-wheel drive.
