Opel has revealed the second generation Meriva, which showcases a sculptural design similar to the concept presented in 2008. Among the features are the rear hinged doors and a spacious and versatile interior. The new compact MPV will go on sale in Summer 2010.
It has also maintained the rear-hinged rear doors (namedFlexDoors) combined with a conentional B-pillar that facilitate access to its cabin - a first for a volume manufacturer.
The exterior design is characterized by sculptural line; the aggressive front end has large headlights similar to the Insignia, while the dynamic profile showcases two distinctive elments: the Insignia-derived “blade” side contour and the dynamic “wave” in the window line just behind the B-pillars
The new Meriva benefits from a longer wheelbase, wider front and rear tracks, all contributing to improved handling and greater ride comfort.
